Social Skills enable your child to interact appropriately with others. Learning boundaries, speaking at the correct volume, and taking turns are just a few of the skills developed by Rocky Mountain Kid Therapy. We go beyond the basics, and teach coping skills to help a child calm themselves, or focus more intently. Simple tricks like using hard candy, having a soft toy, or a stimulating seat cushion can help your child be well behaved.

We base our program on the "Handwriting Without Tears" curriculum.

Throwing, catching, lifting, balancing help your child with activities they need every day. Putting on pants, loading books in a backpack, and riding a bike to school all require strong gross motor skills. Our team of therapists develop your child's skills through directed play, yoga, and daily exercises.

Children should be able to dress themselves, cook a simple meal, and order at a restaurant. Rocky Mountain Kid Therapy helps your child be successful in traditional Activities of Daily Living (ADL). We tailor our program to your child's needs and work with the family to ensure successful carry over to home life.

Coordinating small muscle groups can be hard for many children. Special tools and techniques help build strength and competence using items with fingers. Scissors, thumb tacks, keyboards, and cellphones are part of everyday life. Mastering the use of fine-motor skills improves your child's ability to use these tools and be successful in their daily tasks.
